Professor Kusow and Dr Enoh Win Awards, Dr Souare receives honorary mentionBack
Professor Abdi Kusow and Mohamed Eno, two of the three editors in chief of the Journal of Somali Studies have won the 2015 David R. Maines Narrative Research Award for their award, ‘Formula Narratives and the Making of Social Stratification and Inequality”.
The award will be presented in the Ethnography Division Business Meeting, during the 2015 annual convention of the National Communication Association (NCA) in Las Vegas on Saturday, November 21, at 12:15 pm in Room Amazon F in Rio Conference Centre.
We felicitate with Prof Kusow and Dr Enoh for this important award and wish them more grease to their elbow.
In addition to being one of the editors of JOSS, Dr Enoh is also the author of the collection of poems, Guilt of Otherness (2003) and co-author of the book, The Bantu-Jareer Somali: Unearthing Apartheid in the Horn of Africa (2008).
An article by Dr Issaka Souare , one of our authors received an honorary mention by the African Politics Conference Group. The article, “The African Union as Norm Entrepreneur on Military Coups D’Etat in Africa (1952-2012): An Empirical Assessment” (Journal of Modern African Studies), received an honorary mention forthe APCG Best Article in 2014 in African Politics award.
Dr Souare, who works now with the African Union,is the author of Africa in the United Nations (2006)and the novel Samasi (2004).
