A)    Web of Science  accepts two of our books for indexing

The Web of Science, owned by Clarivate, has accepted to index two of our books  in its highly regarded Book Citation Index (BKCI). It should be recalled that in December 2023, the Web of Science’s BKCI accepted us as a publishing partner after a rigorous evaluation which qualifies us to submit books for evaluation for its book citation database. There are strict criteria on which books should be submitted for evaluation for the Index.. For instance such books must be properly referenced academic books (textbooks are excluded) and must have undergone through rigorous review before publishing. Since we are restricted to to titles published from 2021, we made an initial submission of seven titles that we felt met the criteria. Out of these seven, two have been evaluated and accepted for indexing , one was rejected while four  are still under evaluation. The two titles accepted are:

(a)  Igba Boyi: A Study of the Igbo Apprenticeship Scheme in Onitsha Markets

(b)  Contemporary Discourses in Education, Communication and Cultural Studies

B)    What does it mean to have your book indexed by WoS’ BKCI?

The Book Citation Index (BKCI) is an online subscription-based scientific citation and indexing service maintained by Clarivate Analytics and is part of its Web of Science’s Core Collection. The Web of Science, as we all know, is one of  the world’s most trusted global citation databases, with  almost 1.9 billion cited references from over 171 million records. Through the BKCI, Clarivate can make your books discoverable to anyone searching their index at no cost to you. The result is enhanced visibility of your book content to global users of Web of Science at over 9000 institutions. Additionally, that your book is indexed by BKCI is itself a statement that it went through a rigorous review process and that its academic standards and contents are very high. For more details about BKCI, click on this link.

For us at Adonis & Abbey Publishers, there are three components in the review process of our academic books – the academic review where one or two experts in the field will review the manuscript for its academic merit, the language review and the plagiarism test. For us to publish any academic book, it must pass the three  components of the review process.
